The iZania Online Community is made up of more than 6700 registered members and over 2,000 business listings in our Black-owned business directory -- and growing! Our users include entrepreneurs, professionals and consumers -- individual buyers and sellers, small businesses, and even enterprises. From the very beginning, iZania members have helped one another to act in the self-interests of the descendants of Africa. This strong commitment, based on The iZania Pledge, continues to drive the growth of our Virtual Black Community, and contribute to accelerating the success of Black-owned businesses. Every day, members use our forums to get help from other members, share their best practices, or just socialize.



The iZania Pledge

We, the members of the iZania Online Community, pledge our efforts, our intellect, and our material resources, to achieving a stronger, more united Virtual Black Community. The foundation of our success is dependent on three pillars: family unity, economic growth, and educational achievement.

We pledge:

• to make increased efforts to strengthen Black families through social, religious, civic and educational organizations. Strong families are the anchors of strong communities.


• to consider a Black alternative for every major expenditure. We must think about our self-interests before we can ask others to help.


• to spend at least 1% of our total income with Black-owned businesses, where our expenditures within the Black economy have a 10 to 1 positive economic impact.


• to increase our commitment to full participation in the Information Age by closing the digital divide, and making information technology available to every family.


• to strengthen our commitment to Historically Black Colleges and Universities - the keepers of our history and our heritage.


• to support Black educational achievement at mainstream institutions of higher learning to share our talent with the best minds on the planet.


• To collaborate with others who support our self-interests.

In life, we can accomplish much more together than we can accomplish alone. We will begin to bridge the gap when we teach our children the value of family, education, savings, and investing at an early age. The establishment of youth entrepreneurial programs will be an added benefit to our future generations. The earlier we begin this new model of achievement, the more we will be able to stay ahead of the learning curve in the Information Age. Every African American leader, teacher, and business person should look to mentor a member of the future generation to ensure an ongoing legacy, and to maximize the time our future generation will have to work with business concepts and strengthen our Black economy, and our Virtual Black Community.
